  1. Beautiful work, Marley. I think as you teach art more and more, your own teaching will become an amalgamation of VCAE, DBAE and TAB taking the best from each, eclectically.

Art is really a natural extension of each of the disciplines, when you think about it. It is the system of schooling/education system that has decided to 'unnatually' disect them into separate subjects and compartmentalize them. What you are trying to do is to decompartmentalize art as integrated in every content area, as it should be! Keep it up!
    Appreciatively,

  2. Wonderful presentation, Marley! It's really interesting to focus on all the disciplines that art is really a part of. It's easy to think of some disciplines' art forms as just diagrams or pictures, without considering their true potential in aiding understanding of the topic. Throughout this course this summer, we've had the opportunity to make visuals for a lot of different topics, which just goes to show how important visuals can be to understanding. I looked at how to bring astronomy into physics classrooms. I thought a lot about how to use visuals to increase understanding, but not much about having students create their own visuals and art. I will definitely be adding that to my list of follow up ideas!
